I would have my video uploaded or a link to it but i am currently having issues.
I have added in my own studio name instead of using a pre-excisting one, i called it 'Jackson Swallow Movie Productions' hopefully this will allow me to receive more marks, i made this in around 30 minutes give or take and used a software called 'Motion'. I also added in the soundtrack of a storm playing in the background to help build suspense and tension in the following film.
I am now in a group by myself, my former partner and i have gone different ways in terms of our desired ending, the music i have decided to keep in is a cover of 'Chet Atkins - Waltz For The Lonely' i think the music works well with the video as it is a calming music yet at the same time doesn't give the intention for the viewer to be board. Some reviews of the class said that they did not think that the music fit in terms with the Film Noir,  i have decided against changing it as at the end of the day not everyone will like everything. i changed my ending so that it reverses the clip in 20X the speed to the beginning followed by a sudden shot of both of our eyes (half and half on the screen), i believe this adds a great deal of tension and suspicion to the video encapsulating the viewer to be intrigued to watch the rest of the film. after the sudden high tension rewind and shot i goes back to calmer music showing the title of the film, this is because i want my film to add mystery instead of just going into the full action of a Film Noir, this way my audience will hopefully feel more hooked on it and concentrating on the story more.

This is a photo of the original femme fatal. This is different from a lot of the Femme Fatal characters you will see now-a-days, instead of a dress done up with hair and nails, this actor here is dressed in a mans attire, top harm suit, shoes. i really like this because i find it breaks the original conventions of what is portrayed to be seen as a 'sexy female' to put it blankly. For my own video i have chosen the traditional black dress, nails, hair all done up.

Film noir characters - there are certain main recognisable roles within film noir, for example;

The anti-hero - A hero who is striving for redemption from a troubled past

The Femme-Fatal - The sexy woman who knows what she wants and knows exactly how she is going to get it.

The villain - The evil guy, trying to get what he wants and doesn't care who he hurts along the way.

The girl next door - The innocent friend of the Anti hero, always willing to help and is usually always right the whole time.

These are your main basic characters that can be found in a film noir film.
Last night i was filming our second part of our footage with Jemma. there are only now a very few parts that we still currently need to film like both myself and our actor Maddi opening our hands covered in blood. I now also need to sort out the audio after i have finished editing like putting on the initial sounds t the beginning and music throughout.

With our editing we are able to do the bulk of it in school but there are parts of it that i will be taking home to further advance on the editing with my own software as it allows me to do more specific tasks than whilst at school. During the past week school has been shut due to the site being unsafe due to the wether, as most of our work is at school so this means i will need to put extra time in to assure that our work gets complete.

Fake blood

I will need to use fake blood for the filming in one of my scenes, one of the most effective ways i have seen to do this is by using corn starch and red food colouring.

What i need to film

I need to have footage filmed of me. the scenes that are required are; shots of me sitting in different angles, extreme close ups on my eye's, footage of me smoking and drinking and f my hands covered in blood.

Snow

Today my partner is not here so i cannot edit our video, i also have realized that it is currently snowing and is due to continue for the upcoming weeks, this has provided us with a difficult continuity error as we already have half of the filming done ( this was filmed in the day without snow), i now need to figure out a way to film the other half within short time so that it still works with the rest of the footage.

Monday 7 January 2013

I went filming with Jemma for a couple of hours one day in the holiday to film for our final piece with the help of Maddi Seeley, a year 13 performing arts student who willingly agreed to play the part of the Femme-fatal for us. As we are doing parallel editing we need to film the safe clip twice ( one for each of the characters) so we have one out the way. When we go back to college me and Jemma are going to upload it and start to perform editing and any improvements that need to be done, after that we can see what has worked well and what hasn't so that when we film our other half we can make it even better and also to match the first segment of filming we have done.

When we were out filming all in all i think it went rather well, in one of the scenes a police car's sirens could be heard in the distance, we decided that this was a nice coincidence as it will help our film noir piece.

Despite the freezing cold wether conditions and my ability to try and keep focus i think we did a good job and filmed a sufficient amount of footage.

We have agreed that if we need more footage we can easily film other little bits around school or at our location.
